Da WWD! Hui Is Needed!!!

May 12th, 2009 by Braddah Lance

I had a blog all ready to go but you know me, anything to help anyone in need will trump any silly post I have.

hemajang, posted yesterday for a plea of help.

We are still searching for my sister-in-law, Gail Yoshida. It hasn't been on the news lately so some have thought that she was already found. It has been very difficult for her sons and daughter and husband and family members, especially on Sunday, Mother's Day and her 64th birthday was yesterday.

She is 5' 4", 125 lbs, wearing a long sleeve green sweater, blue shorts and a red/blue baseball cap. She was out walking with her dog. Maile is a white with shades of brown, 30 lbs. mixed terrier.

Her family is very concerned and would appreciate any help in locating her. If you would like a flyer with more information please email me at gail.maile@yahoo.com and I will send you a pdf flyer. Today we are concentrating on distributing flyers for posting.

Here are a few photos. Please look them over and keep an eye out for her. I know we have quite a few Pearl City readers out there so any additional help we can offer or give the Yoshida ohana would be much appreciated. I certainly know Da WWD! Hui doesn't disappoint as the last plea we sent out for help we got some great hits!

For those not in the area, please still keep an eye out and let's all keep the Yoshida's in our prayers and if you're able to print out flyers and post them around that would be great!

If you have any tips or know any information regarding this case, please call 911 or Crimestoppers at 955-8300 or *CRIME from your cellular.

    MUCH MAHALOS!

There's always strength in numbers so the more we can get this out, the better.

  17. theDman:

Might she be suffering from any kind of ailment that people should be aware of?

  18. Rodney:

Wow, this one hits close to home - hemajang's sister-in-law.

I've been following this story and a few psychics mentioned that they see rocks, mud, and water where she is. Have they checked the stream beds? Or how about drainage ditches.

What's odd is that neither Gail nor the dog has turned up. Hopefully that means they're still together somewhere.

  19. Bre:

I will keep Gail in my prayers. I hope they find her and Maile unharmed and okay.

  20. Coconut Willy:

I've been wondering if she was found. Will keep on alert.

  21. snow:

BL, thanks for sharing this information. I was just asking my husband if he had heard anything yesterday.

Hemajang - our thoughts and prayers go out to your family for Gail and Maile's safe return.

    BL:

There's not a lot that I can do from here other than give hope to hemajang amd his family that they find her soon.

  23. hemajang:

Hello BL and fellow posters, I just got back home and saw this post. Had to take a deep breath and compose myself before posting...I'm touched. Much mahalos for all the kind thoughts and well wishes but most of all, if everyone can be on the lookout for Gail or her dog, Maile. Gail and Maile are known to many in the Pearl City area. Today I was at Don Quixote in Pearl City passing out flyers and letting people know that the search is still going on. I was amazed the number of people that knew Gail or have seen her walking around Pearl City. There were so many people helping out the past week- family, friends, community individuals, her church members, PC High School volunteers, and the PCHS athletic teams. The family are big supporters of the baseball teams. The area around PCHS has been searched many times over and we went so far as to the end of both Manana and Waimano Trail. Gail is a healthy and vigorous walker and has been on Waimano Trail in the past. HPD, Search & Rescue, HFD, search and cadaver dogs, helicopters, pig hunters and the Trail and Mountain climbing clubs were involved. I believe the official ground search was over on last Friday. Now it's basically been family and friends with the search and posting of flyers. Today we were concentrating on getting the word out beyond Pearl City and I think there will be a press conference tomorrow. We got a tip that a dog resembling Maile was seen in 2 places in Waipahu so some of us were searching the Hans L'Orange field and the residential area behind Don Quixote, Waipahu but no luck. Tomorrow is another day. Thank you again BL for posting this.

hemajang - My heartfelt prayers go out to you and your family. We are all hoping for the best.

  25. Scott:

I think they just found the dog, but no Gail. 5/13-3:15pm

  26. Syxx:

    Hemajang, I'm so sorry.

Perhaps we as a Triad Hui could go search. I was hesitant to suggest this myself as:

    1) I don't have a car and can't get out to Pearl City in a timely manner.

    2) As dumb as it sounds, if I can't get there due to lack of transportation to and fro, I feel like I'm not beneficial to the search. I've been upset about this fact ever since I heard that her search was called off, but I don't know what to do.

    3) With my work schedule, I'm not even sure I can make it during everyone else's proper hours.

I am willing to go out of my way to search for Gail. I've just always been afraid that I wouldn't be able to make a normal day and be branded as a flake or traitor. It's terrible to lose someone you love, and it hits closer to home, being that the lady is directly associated with our own Hemajang. I've been telling my friends about her, but it just doesn't seem like enough. I apologize, Hema, but I'm going to do as much as possible to help you.

  27. Syxx:

I just read recent comments on the story...I don't understand how people can be so heartless. Sure, if she was an evil person, maybe it would almost be understandable, but really? This is an innocent woman who was loved and respected by people she knew. How dare they? So mad...I never get this serious, but WOW. Have sympathy, people.

  28. Syxx:

Oh no...I'm sorry, Hemajang. I just refreshed the page and...I'm really sorry.

  29. bamboohouse808:

hemajang - I just heard the news. My deepest condolences to you and your family.

  30. Tankobu:

hemajang, I'm so sorry to hear the news. My deepest sympathy to the Yoshida family.

    hemajang:

I am so sorry for what has happened. My deepest condolences to you, the Yoshida family, and friends.

Take care, and remember, we are all here for you.

  32. Scott:

Like Kate said, we're here for you hemajang. You know where to find us. My best to you and your family during this difficult time.
